Tasting Notes
A small batch American gin whose production is limited to only fifty cases a time. Hand bottled, hand labelled, and hand numbered, Leopold Bros. have
been distilling this spirit since 2002. The result is a smooth gin that makes for subtle martinis, while not getting lost in a gin and tonic. Each handcrafted batch is unique, yielding an exceptionally complex yet subtle spirit which both those new to American Gin and the connoisseur will appreciate. Many gins are produced by placing spirit in a potstill and adding the entire range of botanicals in the still before distilling the entire steep in one run, however not all botanicals (juniper, coriander, etc.) have the same boiling point. At Leopold's they take a slightly different tack by placing each individual botanical in the still and distill them off separately.
Nose:
Lots of juniper and a hint of lemon.
Palate:
Juniper spice hits you instantly. Develops into subtle tinges of cardamom and orris root.
Finish:
Dry lingering finish
