Tasting Notes
A regional speciality in Cognac, where brandy, matured for a year, is added to grape musts and the unfermented grape juice is allowed to mix with the spirit. A further maturation in oak until the next harvest gives the spirit time to marry the cognac flavours with the fruity sweetness to produce Pineau des Cherentes. Gautret is one of the biggest names in this speciality drink. Flavours of white and stone fruits in syrup precede a long, aromatic finish.
