Tasting Notes
As a brewery that infamously has a tendency to look back at our influences whilst at the same time accepting our position as a modern day juice slinger, we love that we’re able to meld influences from the OGs whilst giving them a distinctly Polly’s flourish. With Snake City, we wanted to take an old school hop varietal in Chinook, find a hop between the old and new school to bridge the gap between that grassy, resinous bitterness and tropical citrus fruit sweetness - hello Citra, and bring a lesser used new school varietal from one of the new world countries that has all that incredible tropical flavour but seamlessly flows between the three; step forward Ella. Let this incredible IPA take you on a cascading trip along the flavour wheel, with floral, pine and robust grapefruit notes from Chinook doing their thing, before fresh cut lime, lemon and just a hint of floral complexity join the party from Citra, before rounding off with sweet tropical fruits, apricot, and a slight hebal edge from Ella complete things.
